Norse Winds Kennel
Norse Winds participates in a program called B.A.R.K. which stands for “Buy A Round Of Kibble”. We purchase our Native Dog Food from Adams Hardware here in Lawton, Michigan for approx $37. You can donate through B.A.R.K on the contributions page. Just press the "buy now" next to the B.A.R.K Logo.
For businesses or personal contributors we offer advertising. We place your business' on our web sites page if you have one and also we place your business', phone number, address, and or personal name on our “dog truck” . Depending on the contribution you make depends on where your name goes on the boxes and you may even choose which dog you choose to sponsor. Our truck gets lots of attention as we travel all over Michigan and local areas for training, races and speaking engagements. We the “team” will also wear and promote any merchandise you donate. You will also receive a signed picture of the team to display at your home, or office.
We also are looking for meat donations from local butchers and businesses with meat processing capabilities. We don’t need anything fancy, just fat and left over cuts. Anything suitable for dogs. Just contact us and leave your name and number on our contact page and we will return your calls as soon as possible.
We are also available for hire for public speaking engagements. Church, school, and local meetings here in Michigan within a 25 mile radius of Lawton,MI. Please allow for appropriate timing for appearances.
We are currently enrolling in one ten dog race and one eight dog race for the 2009-2010 race season, the Tahquamenon Sled Dog race consisting of an 8 dog team and approx. 48 miles and the Copper Dog 150 with 10 dogs and approx. 150 miles.
All proceeds are to offset the costs of the dogs health, vaccinations, feed, kennel upkeep, travel costs, race entry fees, equipment maintenance, spay-neutering costs and total care and compassion for the "kids". All proceeds and winnings will contribute to these needs also. At this time we are a non-profit orginization and contribute all proceeds including winnings back into the development and constant care of the athletes.
